Rich Metro and Jeff Pellegrini Join Boys Hockey Staff

FARIBAULT, MINN. - Shattuck-St. Mary’s Hockey Center of Excellence has announced the hiring of Jeff Pellegrini and Rich Metro to the boys hockey coaching staff.

Jeff Pellegrini will join the SSM staff as the head coach of the Boys U15 team. Since 2012, Coach Pellegrini has served as the associate head coach for the Northeastern women’s hockey program. Prior to his time with the Huskies, he held stints as an assistant coach at Harvard University and spent time coaching on the men’s side at Nichols College, University of Massachusetts - Boston, and Bowdoin College. Coach Pellegrini is a graduate and hockey alumnus of the University of Massachusetts - Boston.

Rich Metro, who will serve as the Boys U16 head coach, joins the SSM community after being on the Lake Superior State men’s hockey staff for a total of eight seasons. Beginning in 2007-08, Coach Metro served as the hockey video coordinator and volunteer coach before becoming the assistant coach from 2008-11. For the next three seasons, he was the head coach of the Villard de Lans professional hockey team in France before he rejoined the Lakers in 2014 as the assistant coach.
