Three Former Sabres Selected in 2017 NHL Draft

CHICAGO, IL - On Saturday, June 24, former Shattuck-St. Mary’s Sabres Grant Mismash, Scott Reedy, and Tyler Inamoto got one step closer to the NHL with their selection in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Marking the 15th consecutive year a Sabre has been selected in the draft, the former Bantam teammates were among 217 young men drafted over the weekend in Chicago. Minnesota native Grant Mismash was selected by the Nashville Predators with the 61st pick. Mismash played at SSM from 2013-2015, totaling 79 goals and 79 assists in his two seasons between Boys Bantam and Boys Prep.

Scott Reedy and Tyler Inamoto followed closely behind with the 102nd and 133rd picks respectively. Reedy, who totaled 180 points in his two years at SSM, was chosen by the San Jose Sharks. The Florida Panthers selected University of Wisconsin commit Inamoto, who tallied 42 points as a defenseman in his two years as a Sabre.
