Hill, Shibata, and Moilanen Capture First Team Honors

FARIBAULT, MINN. - For the first time in the program’s history, three members of the Shattuck-St. Mary’s Golf Center of Excellence have received First Team All-Future Collegians World Tour honors after impressive finishes during the school year.

Piper Hill ‘22 received the 2017-18 First Team honor for the Girls 13-19 Division. Hill took first place at the FCWT Junior Open at Purdue University, third place at the Papago Classic, and finished runner-up at the Whistling Straits Junior Open.

Ken Shibata ‘23 received the 2017-18 First Team honor in the Boys 12-14 Division. Shibata finished first at the FCWT Junior Open at Purdue University with scores of 67-72 and finished runner-up at the Whistling Straits Junior Open.

And with a sweet ending to his senior year, Juho Moilanen ‘18 received the honor in the Boys 15-19 Division. In his final season, Moilanen finished third at the FCWT Junior Open at Purdue University (with a low round of two under par 70), received low round at the Papago Classic with a 69, and took first in the Boys 15-19 Division at the Whistling Straits Junior Open where he also received low round with a 70.

"For the first time in program history not only did we have a player make First Team All Future Collegians World Tour, but we had three players make first team. This is a great accomplishment for the Golf COE program. Congratulations to Juho, Piper, and Ken on a great year," said Tim DeSormeau, Director of the Golf COE.
